
Extrusion
Since the beginning of 2000, KIN GmbH is active in the field of extrusion technology as well. The pilot plant available in the Technical Extrusion Center comprises dosing and metering units for liquid and dry components as well as an extruder with synchronously acting double screws. The screws can be adjusted in several ways to be used for different processes such as mixing, kneading, homogenization, dispersion, melting or cooking.
Different nozzles allow the production of various shapes. The products can also be cut after the die and dried in a downstream drier, if needed. This allows to produce or process a variety of different products including expanded extrudates, pellets and co-extruded products.
Next to the traditional application of extrusion processes for dried products, KIN GmbH deals with new application fields within the scope of research projects or customer-specific assignments. For example, a method for the production of wet texturates using fresh vegetables and meat has been developed and successfully launched.
Interested clients have the chance to participate in current research projects, develop own project or product ideas and/or have product samples produced here. Added to this, there is the possibility to rent the equipment for a certain period of time exclusively or to have samples produced over a prolonged period of time. This way the clients can manufacture their own products for market tests or wait for consumer reactions to a launched product before investing themselves.
